5 BEST ONLINE DEGREES

Slowly and steadily, were moving away from the conventional educational system. Online programs, institutions and online classes are taking over.So now that online education and degrees are becoming accepted by employers, and the number of degrees has also grown, your ques of finding the best online degree become harder. It's very tough to say which among the online degrees are the best ones,  as "best" can have many meanings, depending on your faculty ( sciences, humanities etc).
As a result, I made a research on the best online courses worth studying.

  1. Business Administration - It comes first as it has less credit hours than the rest( yet to be listed), the course is less competitive yet a lucrative one as the salary for fresh man ranges from N100K-N450K ( depending on the firm yii work with). Unlike other course like law, forensics than require predegree discipline in their respective fields, Business Administration doesn't have a specific field of requirement. As a result, people with sciences discipline can comfortably take the course with no limitation.
  2. Legal studies - Ever wondered why barristers ride falshy cars, rock on expensive suits and financially stable all the time? Because they determine their salary. Law will always be among the most lucrative job ever because of their nature of profession. As a lawyer, you don't go to the office 9" to 5", you don't usually have a boss - you're your own boss, you're psychologically sound and your service as professional lawyer is of high demand. Don't get it twisted, your client isn't tour boss,
  3. Nursing - Yep. You're not to study to be a registered nurse (RN), but studying Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) or Bachelor' of science in nursing ( Bsc.Nursing). Its requires a predegree discipline in pure science, biological science, chemistry etc. The duration is 2-3 years depending on the mode on entry and the institution. On the average, nurses with bachelor's degree earn between N60K- N170K in Nigeria. Nigeria's population is on the rise, as of 2017, it is expected to be 193M. Out if this numbers, only a million are nurses, approximately 0.5% of the population. My point is,  nursing job is of high demand in both private and public health care facilities as as employers are ready to pay for the service. Lots of conventional universities and colleges that offer degree in nursing are having a specific quotation which ranges from 70-100. These institutions couldn't accommodate the annual applicants and so....., online degrees step in for the rescue. All you got to do is search for the best online institution, apply for BNS and study at the comfort of your room.
  4. Education -  Education comes at number 4. For the past years, lots of people have been dodging the course considering the fact that you're kind of isolated as a teacher.  Well thanks to the past, professional educationists are scarce, literary resulting in high demand of them. Most especially newly established private educational institutions, teachers with a degree a comfortably paid N90K-N200K. On this category, technical educations (Edu.Maths, Edu.Chem, Edu.Phy, Edu.Geo etc) are more preferred that single honored Education. Physical education shouldn't be left out as with it, you've broken the boundaries of teaching and shall be able to work in gyms, recreational centres, sporting clubs etc.
  5. Computer Science/ Computer Technology - Study either of these courses and you'll be the boss. Just take a look at your community( or the world as a whole)  what are their problems, can the problems be solved digitally? Either yes or no, with a degree in computer related course you'll be able to give it a try. With either of these degree, you'll be able to master at least a Computer Programming Language. With the skill, you can set up a private web design business, a web hosting business, a domain name registering business etc. Each of these businesses require a very little start up capital. With these same degrees, you'll be able to work as a freelancer (hired to do a job on the internet and get paid instantly) with fetch very good sums to the bank.

My list is pretty exhaustible, I made a research specifically on Quora and Reddit, so feel free to add other courses or mention a course that isn't worth studying online. Lots of courses usually pop up both on both forums these are verily pronounced. Don't get stuck to jamb trying to find your way into the educational institutions. The best place to study these courses is National Open University of Nigeria and University of the People (US based online institution). Lots of conventional universities like University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Ahmadu University Zaria etc offers some of the courses though not possibly online but in a distance learning package(campuses close to you). The courses may cost a fortune but remember you're to attend no lecture, you're studying right at the comfort of your home, office, on the go etc.

Can you take an online degree? Either yes or No, Comment your reason.

Are you studying your dream course?

While I was in pre tertiary school, i had my passion aligned to complexities. I used to like subjects that require logical inputs and brain power some of which are physics, mathematics, further_maths, etc. Not that I'm not good at the other subjects, I usually find them too cheap for my attention (wink). Lo and be hold, I'm currently studying biology n the tertiary institustion, something I never saw coming. I may be studying biology in good faith, but I can't imagine myself studying chemistry, astronomy, history etc. I spoke to few friends of mine about studying a subject that you have little or no interest in, their response was very similar (as I expected),  they'll never study a course that they're not interested in. Taking into consideration that  our educational system is something else, ie it doesn't always favour our demand, people often accept the various courses they're being offered to study. Its pretty worrisome that after getting done with W...

10 ways Blockchain could be used in education

What is blockchain? Can it be used in education? In 2001, I designed and implemented a Napster-like system with no central storage or control that distributes learning content across a network for non-competing public-sector bodies. Everyone who created content could share it.   It didn’t work because, despite being non-competitors, the public sector organisations just didn’t like innovation and stuck to their institutional silos. They were fixed in their old ways – with massive duplication of content and no sharing, which is as true today as it was then. The same fate, I fear, could happen to Blockchain technology – but let’s explore its potential.   What is it? Technically, Blockchain is a distributed database, spread across many computers with no central control that could transform governance, the economy, businesses and the functioning of organisations. And by the way, it’s already here, not only in Bitcoin, but in many other serv...
